  • Yeah, I know what the proper workflow is and use it regularly, the problem is, my editor decided to use 15 video tracks which pushes the main tracks off the bottom in color and can’t be viewed (color only sees 9 tracks unless you have a way around this). In addition, there are about 600 cuts in the sequence but only 270 actual clips. Since Color is retarded and can’t link the cut clips, I decided I’m better off doing the clips themselves. I’ve done this before without problem. The weird thing is, a good portion of the clips relink. Maybe 15% of them, not enough to be worth much, but the remaining clips fail, even when I very specifically relink one clip, it doesn’t take. Can you think of any reason this would be happening? I’m starting to wonder if it has less to do with the color part of things and more to do with the project itself. There are a lot of subclips and things….

Anyway I’m not looking for tips on what I should have done, but rather, a way to fix what’s happening since it’s a lot of work to redo and I don’t have the time.

If anyone has any ideas I’d much appreciate it.

    PS
I did some experiments with exporting XML from final cut and manually editing parts to see if that would change anything but I couldn’t find anything useful.
