sometime back the old m100 management paid two different companies to write OMF export for Mac M100
and the 844 system. One got released – the Mac version and the 844 version got tangled up in faults
problems and then a legal stoush over payment.

the Mac OMF export only was available until the new HD product but it isnt written for the new card.
i have heard there are beta’s of OMF for the Mac product from Diaquest but as yet unreleased.

auto duck also did work to improve OMF functionality for the 844 system but that
all stopped with optibase’s purchase of the unit.

lets hope boris make it a priority if they end up buying M100

sadly after all this time -Vers 10
    No you can’t

some of us have done things in previous years, like mastering to tape with matching code from timeline and hang the vhs off the beta tape machine’s super out. or just loop thru the beta deck, in other words letting the beta deck do the timecode super.

if your client doesnt need absolute matching code this will do but when its so simple to do a burn in code in real time on that ‘other’ system its frustrating

email me if it isnt clear

well put dagoberto, i’ve not see you post before so welcome too!

So imagine a real time After effects or Motion competitor? BorisFx on 844 boards?
Unlikely but nice to dream 🙂

I believe the final touches to the press releases are just days away. Then we can all
re-focus on the job at hand.

BorisFx please give us a real road map of where M100 will be pointed
as soon as humanly possible – and congratulations

reactions as they roll out in the coming weeks. media 100 is in much good hands with boris fx

    greg

this is pretty much hat i have done on the road with SW but please remember to copy your bins, programs and project before working on them.

Dont work on the originals. Once SW opens it they will not be able to be re-opened in stdrd M100 – Do you have i or HD?

Your Media 100i system will not be able to play a program created on Media 100 sw, but the QuickTime media exported from Media 100 SW will be able to be imported and played out to tape
    on Media 100i.

So make an Uncompressed movie or similar onto firewire and take back to the Stndrd M100

If you capture your material with timecode then you will also be able to output an EDL from Media 100 sw to recapture your materials

question 2 – yes the new M100 is a new board and unless you have an extension chassis to place it in, it wont work with a G4. It simply doesnt fit.
So you may be up for a new G5, new graphics cards and new software BUT make sure you weigh up these costs versus the daughter card P6000 option. That deal is very old and you are buying old albeit great technology. I’m not aying dont do i t- I did a few years back and it has given one of my suites greater flexibility bu tjust be aware that it may be better to make a big jump as you have waited so long!
