Digibeta is either NTSC or PAL. Both are interlaced.

Usually the client specifies for you. I think now they have to be 12 digits.

I had problems with the adobe plugin as well. But that’s when it first came out so maybe it’s been fixed.

Yes, you lose tons. Is this going to be for broadcast? If so I take it you are offline editing?
Also, was the digibeta shot anamorphic? If not you aren’t going to get 16×9 unless you fake it.
If this is for broadcast and you are the finisher you’re going to need to either 1) rent a deck or 2) find somebody with one to capture for you.
If you are just offline editing have someone transfer to DV and you are fine, but it will need to be onlined at some point…

If u have the kona 3 and the appropriate sync and decks, then u can do this on your own. But you said another company is taking care of the digi so I take it u don’t have decks.
Yes it’s possible to downconvert thru compressor but that would be a waste of time (a LOT of time). Give this stuff to a post house. -
What equipment do you have to do the conversion?

Don’t know why you would need a consultant…
Do you have HD Decks at your facility? If so just lay to tape and send off to a post-house for a downconversion. You could also probably get a hard drive and put your uncompressed QT on that and send to a post house as well, if you don’t have a deck. -
Do a search for fractal noise tutorials. Should get you going in the right direction.
