July 7, 2015 at 9:49 pm in reply to: NVIDIA Card with Yosemite and Premiere causing major graphics failureI just tried the latest CUDA release as of this morning (7.0.56 I believe) on 10.10.4 / iMac GeForce GTX 680MX. I’m running all the latest CC 2015 apps and STILL getting the same screen garbage after launching Premiere.
No fix.

I agree with you on the file organization, Dave.
However, it would be nice to see Adobe implement something along the lines of what Shake does. On import it gives you a check box in the dialog to show sequences as groups. Looking at “ShadowPass_00000-03000.tif” is much better than having to scroll through hundreds of files to find my shadow pass. Not to mention you can import more than 1 sequence at a time.

Media Encoder or Compressor will give you a really good encode for an “off-the-shelf” software package.
If you have the money for Cinema Craft or already own a copy, by all means use it. It’s the industry standard for the big studios.

Capture ProRes 422 HQ or Uncompressed. Then run through Adobe Media Encoder or Compressor using the “DVD” presets that match your captures (widescreen 23.98, etc.) You should be able to author and master the DVD in Encore or DVD Studio Pro without either program re-encoding the m2v files that the encoders create.
DON’T CAPTURE DV. It’s crap and will encode even crappier. You want clean high quality sources for encoding. Also, don’t let the authoring software encode (or re-encode) your sources. It will look awful.
Hope this helps

Agreed. I’ve never even heard of Timewarp in C4D. Thanks for the help.

HAHA! You’re a life saver!
Why was that so hidden???
Anyway, thanks Adam. Huge help.

I’ve been creating menus for about 10 years for mostly Spruce, Scenarist, and DVD Studio Pro. I’ve been strictly graphics and animation, while a coworker has been the author. I’ve always provided indexed files for overlays using Red, Blue, Black, and White for transparent background and providing callout colors. I use the blue and black for antialiasing around the edges.
So, I’ve changed companies and the new facility is all CC based and i’ve been trying to find the equivalent workflow in Encore. Does it not support indexed files? Is there an equivalent method for fudging antialiasing?
I tried using the layer naming method described in the manual, but had to index, convert back to RGB, separate the pixel colors to layers, etc., etc. To say this is a pain in the ass is an understatement.
Is there another way to fake antialiasing in Encore? My overlays look like amateur garbage.
Thanks in advance

As a matter of fact… I did.
Install the previous driver for the tablet. Something in the latest one is causing the problem. Hope it works for you.

So, it has something to do with lifting the pen or mouse off of the WACOM surface. Bueller?… Bueller?… anyone?…

Thanks Darby. That worked perfectly!
Cranked up the mesh density and got a really clean render.
Now if I could just tackle this Thinking Particles puzzle :0
Thanks again.
