Yes sorry I am using CS6

The room was very well lit in a professional studio. The reason it looks so flat is because I am yet to grade and shot it that way on a dslr using cinestyle. Should I be doing some basic grading before keying?

  • I have the same problem. The most recent version of looks with the playhead in the right place.

    Thanks for the reply Brent.
I’m not really looking to record directly into the camera. I can still use the H4N as a recording device on most occasions.

I’ll look at the onboard mics but handling noise does worry me quite a lot.

I’ve also heard some microphones give a low output into the H4N because of the bad pre amps.

I read a lot of conflicting opinions so it’s a tough one to decide on 🙂

Also, sorry to have another question. I’ve just been testing transcoding within Encore with my 1280×720 files.

When I compress in Premiere first to M2V I have to crop it to get rid of the black bars at the side (9 pixels at top and bottom) then import it into Encore it’s fine. However, when I transcode the linked video inside of encore, and I crop the same, the video then has a black border round the whole video. Thanks very much and sorry for not including in the original post.

Thanks for all the help. I’m just about getting my head around it all. All my aspect ratios ‘should’ be fine after double checking. Is there anyway to line up the co-ordinates of each object easily? ie. Can I adjust my text layer to sit with my solid object?

Also, thanks for the tips regarding track mattes. I will have a look into them. I had a quick play with your suggestion, Kevin, but when I applied the matte the black solid object disappeared. Can I keep that in and still have the subject go in front of the text?

    Thanks again

Thanks very much. I’m very new to this so if you could advise me on what H&V is and how I can adjust those properties I would be very grateful. Thanks again
