I am running the G4, Duel 800, I have three extra media drives (IBM – 120gigs) and one external LACIE drive (150gigs). I have a scanner and a printer hooked up to the computer and out of the firewire I’m running the SONY DSR-11 deck. I’m really confused if it’s a config issue, since I’ve had this set up the same way for the past three + years – with few issues. I upgraded my RAM about a year ago and now have two new 512’s in their along with an original 512 (so three total) and since I’m totally lame I have no idea what the name of my firewire card is. (guide me to where i can find the name)

I will try lowering the RT audio to 2 and see what happens, but it seems to be a LARGER issue than a small adjustment b/c
    1. it’s happening on a regular bases (and i edit almost every day)
    2. for FCP to simply shut down while in a “print to video” mode seems highly irregular – and reads that the system is unstable…

I did upgrade my OS system recently to 10.3.9 and I did upgrade FCP recently to the HD version…this could have something to do w/ it?

    your help is so appreicated

On top of FCP crashing on me, I am consistatly getting “dropped frames” message. (I posted an earlier message regarding this issue) I am aware of many of the things that one can do to avoided this dreaded error message:
    – closed unused sequences
    -trash pref
-not have any drive more than 90% full
    – do a mixdown on audio
    etc etc

I’ve even Rebuilt my permissions on my hard drive several times and this doesn’t seem to do any good.

    I’m at a loss….

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks,
