Vegas always seemed to crash, or stop at the same point in the video, no matter which filetype I used to render.
What I eventually did was, rendering 2 parts seperately, open them together in SV and re-render them to one file.
It is not ideal, nor recommended but it seemed to be the only solution.

Thanks alot for your time Mike.

I upgraded now to SV8c (was confused earlier)

Fraps is a real-time video capture utility that is designed to record footage in games, it basically supports any game with (OPENGL and DirectX applications). Basically by just pressing your hotkey it records your AVI file (its not possible to record in a diffirent filetype.

It is indeed very correct that uncompressed AVI files are incredibly huge before they are rendered. For example my project is 254 GB, and I expect it to be around 1 GB after rendering it in WMV. (my previous project was around 120 gb and the final size after rendering was 750 MB.)

I heard from a friend that the folowing changes might help:

Options -> Preferences -> Video -> Dynamic RAM Preview on “0”
Options -> Preferences -> Video -> Maximum number of rendering threads on “1”

I just gave it another shot by upgrading as you said and doing what my friend advised me to do.

Thanks alot for helping me so far, let’s hope this works out well.

(My excuses when there might be some grammar mistakes, my main-language is not English)

    EDIT: (sorry for the inconvenience)

I just gave it another shot and re-rendered untill Vegas crashed again, this time not on 15% but on 22%.
Is there any way I clarify my problem to give you guys a better idea?

Yes, files are recorded with FRAPS on 50 fps, resolution recorded was 1280-1024 but cropped to 1280-720.
All fraps-recorded files are uncompressed avi.
I have done this before, but with smaller projects (6:30 min).
Will try to upgrade as you said, I’l get back to you guys later.
