June 17, 2021 at 2:12 am in reply to: How to troubleshoot why project file isn’t opening?I don’t use the Creative Cloud library. I use PS, Premiere, and a few other programs. I haven’t seen the same issue with other Creative Suite programs.

June 16, 2021 at 4:19 pm in reply to: How to troubleshoot why project file isn’t opening?thanks. I tried disconnecting all local drives and disconnecting the network cable. It looks like the project file takes around 30 minutes to open only when the network cable is connected. Now this is weird because there are no references to networked files in this project file. It also happens when I’ve disconnected all network shares in Windows Explorer and kept the network cable connected, so I don’t know why being connected to the LAN would be freezing the program up. Any ideas?
After I posted the question originally I had been able to get around the problem. I opened the file on another computer (taking 30-50 minutes), reduced it in AE to get rid of unused files and then saved it as a new file. This did away with the problem until now.

May 7, 2021 at 8:27 pm in reply to: Advice for stabilizing shaky timelapse of fish being eaten to the bone (lol)? This works perfectly – luckily there are some pieces of dust that are very stable. I also like the idea of embracing the movement, but the shots in the rest of the film are stable so having that for this shot would make it stand out. Thanks a lot.

April 22, 2020 at 11:55 pm in reply to: Best way to fine tune artificial camera movements (using null layer) to pan between constructed scenes?Ok glad to know that I’m not alone haha. Creating a smooth path with 3 keyframes must be difficult. Do you use the camera feature in AE, or do you use null layers to create a “camera” as I did? If you used the camera feature, how is that better than using nulls?

November 9, 2019 at 7:03 pm in reply to: Start playback of clip in credits roll when clip comes on screenOk great, thanks. Adding the expression when the layer is below the come fixes it.

November 9, 2019 at 3:57 am in reply to: Start playback of clip in credits roll when clip comes on screenOne more question. I’m getting this error with some clips in the sequence, seemingly at random:
“After Effects warning: an expression was disabled as a result of an error.
Error at line 6 in property ‘Time Remap’ of layer 54 (‘(name of layer)’) in comp ‘credits’. Timeout while waiting for the engine.”If I copy that problem layer (that has the same expression as the ones that are working) and paste it into a new comp it works fine. I thought that maybe it was due to the amount of layers in the comp (around 40 video layers), so I deleted the rest of the videos from the credits comp, but that didn’t help either. Any idea as to how to solve this issue? Thanks.
