Good to know. I’ll pass that info along to the person who gave me the hard drive. Thanks!

I’m sorry, not exactly sure what you mean by the “contents” folder? There’s no contents folder in the file structure I was given. Screen shot below of my file structure.

I just realized if I go to import, choose see MXF, and import each MXF they’ll come in clean and nice. But I’d have to do it 1 by 1 and that’s ridiculous.

    Thanks again for your help.

February 4, 2014 at 1:33 am in reply to: Red Scarlet and FCP 7.0

Piggy backing off of this question – I am working on a project in FCP 7 that was shot on the RED Scarlet. I used the above steps and have great ProRes HQ footage. My client gave me a XML file where they previously linked the footage and audio for me in a timeline… except when I re-link everything, the video looks slow and no matter what I do, it won’t match up with the audio. My gut feeling says the video needs to be sped up… But I can’t seem to figure out by how much? Is there a clear cut way to do this so I’m not just guessing?

    Thnx

January 18, 2014 at 3:15 pm in reply to: Sending Project to a Colorist

The colorist said they’re working on Davinci Resolve 10. Here’s what they said in terms of files needed –

“Just send me a dnxhd. AAF is fine too. Davinci resolve 10”

By asking for a dnxhd are they just asking for a high res quicktime w/ that codec? What’s the process for delivering an AAF they can work with?

    Thanks again,

    Joel

They’re asking for a XML. I’ve been a long time FCP user and I know exactly how to do it on that program, but does that option exist in AVID?

Awesome, thanks. It’s already high rezzed. I’ll talk to the colorist and see how they want it first. Much appreciated.

April 7, 2010 at 1:24 pm in reply to: Pixel size issue with graphics

I’ve attached a image of the two graphics. On the left is the graphic in quicktime pro how it should appear in Final Cut… a little wider and fatter. On the right is how it appears in Final Cut… taller and skinnier… Looks like a pixel issue, but I don’t know how to correct it. Thanks all for your help.

Thanks Neal. It is helpful for the future, but right now the graphics exist as 720×486 non-square pixels and it does not look right when bring it into FCP.
