Using the DEM I’ve tried two methods

1) I made stills of the levels of elevation, colored them white and animated them on the timeline, fading/blending in progression.

2) I imported the DEM, set mode to lighten, went to Effects>color correction.levels and animated levels (especially gamma). This worked but was tricky and left color edges .

Is there a simpler way to do the second method?

I’d like to try that as it seems a better idea than what I’m using now Can you walk me through your method with more step-by-step?
