Ty, I kid you not,,, the manual is less than pocket size and, limits any verbiage to short sentences that say nothing. Mostly just marketing for accessories and the like.
But the darn thing never addresses the use of the switch,, hence the post…

My AKG 300B has a little switch on it with three positions
lin, 75Hz, and 10db from the top down.
How and under what conditions do I employ these correctly.

The mic is for use on Panasonic DVX100 cam

referring to the frequency response of a mic which is better ???
40 to 15,000 or 80 to 13,000 Hz

If I’m learning, then I’d say the first is probably what I want because I’d guess it’s sensitive to sound sooner and goes higher before it clips the sound.

and any helpful hints with PZM use/set up if you can plz

l-click the lick
r-click it and select unlink
the
l-click anywhere outside the clip to release it
and
l-click the clip again

this time when you click it, you will only be able to select one or the other because they are ‘unlinked’

now you can ,,, delete the audio, push it over, bounce it to a separate track,,, what ever you want and the same applies to the video

I’m no expert but I think it all depends on ‘what you envision’ when you say ‘make an image’ and how you will incorporate it into your edit.

Consider:
How Clean does that image need to be?? will a screengrab be sufficient?? do you have software to take a good screengrab??

If I REALLY needed to get a clear crisp frame I could conform to NTSC then I’d go so far as to darken the room and take a hi res photo of the screen and import it in as PSD file.

That may be poor method to do it but I’m a NuB so I’ll not appoligize, anyone else is free to chime in… I’ll learn something.
However,,, If in fact all I need is a hint of a well known website like say,,,, ‘Creative Cow’s’ homepage,,,
(send the lawyer back,,, just talking analogies here,, lol)
then I’d simply screengab it and import a JPEG….

Tell us what you want to do and what you need it to look like…

Hi Brett

FYI I am pretty new to editing so I think I can speak for ‘outside looking in’ crowd.
That said my opinion is as follow:

* I took offense at ‘The Suits’ thing, sure I thought of them all as ‘The Man’ back in my day (dating myself) but ,,, is that how they’d want to be remembered. Calling them the suits is kin to an attack depending on ones perception.

* Along the way we meet a bunch of people who have a given area of expertise but they are all doing one thing, talking form a lecture or podium. Just me IMO that is, but I’d rather envision them in the midst of their environment.

* The last part of the video just before, ‘Orientation is over’ does nothing to recruit is that is what this is intended to be. The kids are eating, drinking, sitting in groups and such. Almost waiting for something that never arrives. My thinking would have been to visually depict a transition. I’d follow some ‘newcomers’ for a few scenes where they are arriving, being welcomed in, going from ‘newcomer clothes’ to lab coats and libraries, a study hall moment, working in the lab, the face of a kid who just had a ‘eureka’ moment.

* Last, i like all the responses but would encourage you to study Mark Suszko’s comments. I think Mark has the ‘time and grade’ (army term) and is giving you a wealth I cannot but strive to posses.
