The drives are Unity drives, so whatever mystical format they use.

The timecode generator is getting reference from a Tektronik SPG422.

I just want to reiterate that they have seen this problem to the frame twice. It stopped recording at the exact length both times. 01:10:04:06. It’s not stopping at a point in time, but a length.

    Thanks.

Just stops. They can pick right back up and keep recording fine. There is space for over 7 hours of recording so I don’t think they are running out.

    Thanks.

This is baseband video off a switcher, there is no time code break, it is being generated by a timecode generator and 3 other desitinations(AJ-HMP110s) record flawlessly without a break in time code.

    Thanks for the response.

I’ll be interested to hear your results from shooting indy racing with that camera and the long-gop codec…

My experience with long-gop and quick motion is not that good.

please let us know how the camera holds up.

So, is everyone just using rasterizers these days?? No one doing the side by side thing anymore?

    Hey,

well I may not be your best product reviewer as I work for a reseller and am not much of a DP, cameraman, or editor for that matter.

But, I am getting ready to try my hand at shooting a music video for a song I produced(that part I actually do fairly well).

Regardless, I have enjoyed using the 700 so far. It really is plug and play with FCP. I messed around a little with the under/over crank and that works well too. I pretty much stayed in 720/60p mode so far. Haven’t noticed any strobbing, but I have only shot some pretty random stuff in the day time, just basically trying to get footage for workflow testing.

I will let you know my findings from my little music video shoot, LOL.

Yeah, I can do that. They just make it out like you can Log and Transfer it though. Why else would they have a Log and Transfer Plug-in? This camera is so new that there isn’t a whole out there in regards to user experience, so maybe this is just normal. But if you download the plugin, they specifically outline the use of L&T.

    Thanks.
