This is not possible in the DVD-Video format. Sorry.

Encore 1.5 does not offer multi-angle video, so if it’s a feature you need to have now, then you’ll need another authoring package.

If it’s something you think you’ll need in the future (or if you decide you don’t like that other authoring package), then please file a feature request at the Adobe website.

    Wish I knew why…

Do you get any error message when you try to transcode more than on clip? And does this happen with all clips, or just those you are working with in this project?

Finally (for a quick fix), if transcoding is what’s causing the crash, what happens if you transcode video to M2V and audio as WAV in another application such as PPro, and then put the streams together in Encore timelines? Does that allow you to build without error?

Ron, I don’t know why you might be getting a crash. I can transcode multiple files via Transcode Now and there are no errors.

Maybe this will help? Encore automatically transcodes all media in a timeline or menu at build time. If you let Encore do the transcoding, does it complete without error?

Encore does not offer this feature.

However, you could add this to an Encore-created VIDEO_TS folder with the help of Sonic eDVD.

Encore only encodes to Dolby Digital 2.0 (stereo).

If you want 5.1 sound, you’ll have to create and encode it to Dolby Surround in other applications. You can then import the Dolby Surround AC3 file into Encore and your DVD will feature surround sound.

    From the Sonic Support database:

“Usually, this error happens when the audio_ts and video_ts folders from a pre-made DVD (either Hollywood or a consumer made) are dropped onto the hard drive and the user tries to replicate them into another DVD or “back up”. Also, the error can be caused due to renaming the file, using non-alphanumeric characters (8 or less), or incorrect path settings as when the files has been moved while the session is in use.

You may also want to be sure that you are building your session to the top level of your hard drive as well.”

Perhaps one of the latter cases applies?

You’re not doing anything wrong. Encore does not play back 5.1 audio. But it does pass through 5.1 audio to the burned DVD.

July 25, 2005 at 2:14 pm in reply to: MENU PAUSES AT LOOP POINT!

I don’t think Melanie said that the same menu sometimes pauses. She said a particular menu pauses consistently.

And every testing cycle, Encore projects are run through industry-standard verifiers to assure that the data structures are DVD-legal, so I don’t think it has anything to do with how Encore lays out files on the DVD. More likely is the troublesome menu somehow was corrupted in the project. In this case, I would try clearing out the Loop Point, build a DVD folder, then re-insert the Loop Point and build to disc again.
