    I think I may have solved my own issue here.

    I had installed a “test” DLL that allowed me to read-in and edit Panasonic HDC-SD9 files. Unfortunately, this “broke” the proper rendering of the Canon HF10 files. Things are much better since I switched back to the original DLL (remember if you make ANY changes in your system, set it up to restore back to the original!)

    In any case, this issue is solved for the time being.
