Suggest a process of elimination;
Will your cam connect OK on another PC? no
Does another DV cam connect OK on your PC? yes
Does Device Manager SEE your cam in Imaging Devices? no
Try another firewire cable? tried many others, same result.

Mike I have been reading on the adobe forums that ALOT of other people are having same problems with their Z1.
Best answer I have seen is to try using aspect HD, but surely I shouldnt have to buy another expensive software package to let me capture HDV, or even DV from our very expensive Z1!
They are also saying that the HDV timecode appears to have problems as well?

My G5 is (im told) one of the ‘first revision’ DP 1.8s.
It is supposed to have the PCiX slot and it does have the extra ram slots as in the DP 2.0 and up models, that can take upto 8 gig.
So am I right in thinking a DL will run in my PCi x slot ok? I have the higher model G5 video card as well that was in the DP 2 & 2.5 models. Will this card interfere with the decklink?
OR, should I be looking at a different card altogether?
