The tricaster frame sync The incoming SDI signal. the problem is that The cameras that i have don’t Run without a reference. The Composite signal that i take from sdi to analogue converter works as a reference for my spg and The cameras and returns are all sync. I don’t know if is right to do this. Use a composite signal has a reference.

Hi,
All the cameras are SD 16:9 Sony DXC-D35WSP with CCU-M5 CCU in Component Video that are converted to SDI by Blackmagic Analogue to SDI.
Them the 4 SDI go to inputs of Tricaster.
The cameras have the reference from CY430.
The problem is if i remove the reference from the CCU i don’t have return at all.

Hi there!
Blackmagic support its only for input capture and streaming. It would be great for output. there is someone that have done this on Linux.
Hope Blackmagic can write a driver for VLC output!

Thanks for the information. I have tried Eugeny’s recommendations and i have tried on debian server whit two clients with good results. When i have time to format the avid server i will try a RAID 5 with 16 drives with debian samba with xfs file system. With Linux i ca aggregation the two ports and i have check that the switch support also. first i will test and maybe pass to production work.
Best regards

As I suspected that was a bad business…So i don’t have any alternative. And what do you think about my idea to install Linux and make a RAID 5 with a samba share?
Thanks

My Avid is Gigabit based no fiber. It was installed in December of 2010. At the time there is no money for fiber and i was not involved in the upgrade.
But i think performance is very poor compared with linux samba server with 1 hardrive. The samba in Linux is standard configuration with enabled SMB2 support.
The idea is to convert the Unity server remove the Avid and Windows software and install Linux with samba server using is hardware.
Or is not a good idea? Think that there is no money and justification for upgrade a 2 years system…
Thanks!

I would love to use it on TV news studio. We have SD cameras with B4 mount lens from Canon.
How long can be the thunderbolt cable for image control?
The HD-SDI is clean feed Full HD?
Its a great price for Studio Camera.
