The MTS file is Sony’s AVCHD which is based on .H264. It’s not an editing format, it’s a delivery format.

The advantage of using 5DtoRGB is that it can “correct” the footage from 109IRE to 100IRE. You have to do that manually in FCPX. You can also use CLIPWrap to reconform slowmo footage.

but here i suggest you to change the avchd to prores 422, 422hq or prores 4444 for final cut pro by using a third-party tool , which will make the steps easier. Did you agree with me ?

I have an AVI file into Adobe Premiere CS6, loading audio just fine, but no video. VLC Player can play the file perfectly (audio and video) so I clearly have the right codecs installed. I ran a program on the file, and it identified the video codec as “xvid”. So, does Premiere Pro support .AVI(Xvid) format?

To load AVIs to Adobe Premiere Pro smoothly, you will need to format shifting AVI to a more “edit” friendly codec for Premiere Pro like MPEG-2.

To install XDCAM browser, and then restart FCP, right click the import, there will be XDCAM browser this option. Then you can import the file.

If still fails, you can try rewrap MXF videos to Prores so that FCP 7 and X can afford.
