Thanks Michael. I hadn’t thought of that. Unfortunately I just tried all possible combinations (scale to fit, center crop, etc) in the Input Scalling options and none of them reproduces the same size/de-anamorphize attributes assigned to the source clip.
As some have suggested, perhaps this might well be a loophole in the software re: proxies made from sources intended to be de-anamorphized.
Color grading with squeezed proxies as a reference is still doable and I could settle for it and turn them on and off constantly to double check what I’m doing, but I’d also have to switch back and forth the Input Scalling setting to see the entire image because again, it’s not only the de-squeeze that’s not applying but the scale too.
