For anyone else who has had this problem, and no one stepped forward to offer suggestions…my issue was resolved when I re-attached the firewire to the deck. The gremlins read it correctly the second time around.

Neverrrmiiinnd! I found that I was working TOO hard. I shoulda just left the text alone instead of trying to “stretch” it out to one line. Another lesson never to be forgotten. Thanks anyway to anyone who was pondering my problem!
