I have very similar problem on both my computers (Lenovo notebook + desktop PC, both running WinXP Pro SP3). Whenever there is Canopus Edius 4.6 installed, none of the Adobe applications work correctly. If I try to drag clips to timeline (in Encore, AfterEffects or Premiere) it crashes down. I tried Adobe CS2 Production Suite, CS3 PS and now CS4 Master Suite and it is the same in all versions.
It worked before with older versions of Canopus Edius (for sure with v.3). Now there is a new Edius v.5, I hope to be able to test it in future.
I can repeat this error any time, if I install Edius, dragging to timeline stops working, when I uninstall and reboot it works again. It is not enough to remove Edius + ProCoder but also Canopus Codec option.
I have seen this problem reported by many users on many forums, so it IS a common problem.
I wonder if Thomson + Adobe will work together to solve this issue?
