October 26, 2015 at 4:26 pm in reply to: How to do a script or template to change text in text layers…I have not used this script but perhaps it might be useful to you. From the description it allows you to export your text layers to a spreadsheet, modify them there, and then apply those modifications in AE.

October 26, 2015 at 2:11 pm in reply to: How to take out a background in a video of a moving person and put the person in a other background. You would need to use rotoscoping to separate the actor from the background in an already existing video which was not done using green/blue screen. I think Dave assumed that you were starting from scratch.

Go for it. Use a Metaball object with whatever you like.
From the help file:
You can use parametric spheres, splines (all types), or polygon objects with the Metaball object. In the case of polygon objects, each point is interpreted as a sphere.
The metaball geometry works with any type of geometry and spline. With regard to geometry, each individual object point is viewed as a sphere that can be fused.

If you really want to know how FCP is going to work with El Capitan go ahead and upgrade. If you want a guinea pig… be the guinea pig.
If it works, great. If not, admit your foolishness and move back to the clone of your previously working system that you had so wisely saved.

I noticed this comment from Nick on the Video Copilot tutorials forum:
“So I was tinkering around with Sure Target and AE 2015 and I seem to have stumbled on a workaround. Setup your comp with ST and then save and close AE fully. When I re-launch ST seems to work as expected in the saved file. My guess is that something in the part of the plug-in that originally sets the ST expressions causes an error in AE. Maybe if one of the VC guys see this it will help them track down the issue.”
Maybe that will help.

From the video you provided I can see that I did not understand your initial question, though the advice still applies. If your intent is to make a simple gif sequence, for example, it looks fine. With a limited number of frames there is nothing you can do to smooth it out, and for certain looks you wouldn’t really want to. If your intent is to have completely smooth motion though, you will again need more frames, which in your case means more illustrator images. The more “tweens” (in between frames) you have, the smoother the animation.
-
To put it simply, smoother animation is a function of smaller changes between frames and a higher frame rate. If the opacity change appears choppy you need it to take place over more frames at a higher rate, otherwise each change in opacity is a larger step and is visible longer, and thus is more noticeable to the viewer. If you are simply making a slide show of 6 different images at a normal frame rate of 30fps, a one second fade in and out should look fine. If it is something else that you are trying to do I would need some more details in order to understand it.
Hope this helps.

I can’t view the video either, so I am only guessing at the animation, but I think what you want to do is animate the Noise Amplitude and X,Y, and Z Scales of the Noise Details in your Noise Effector to get your points moving. Add a Triangulation Renderer and experiment with the Maximum Distance to get the triangles to form and vanish between the moving points.
For different colored triangles add a second Noise Effector set to Effector effects – Vertices, Apply Noise to Vertices – Color, Color Type – RGB, and in the Triangulation Renderer verify that Get Colors From Vertices is checked. Also adjust the Opacity over Distance in that renderer to either fade the triangles in and out with a sloped graph, or have them snap on and off with a vertical falloff on the distance axis.
Hope this helps.

I’m on CS6, but it should be the same for you. Although the Adobe help files show the shortcut to be OPT+CMD+H, the Animation menu shows it as CTRL+OPT+CMD+H, and that definitely works.

I find the same situation occurring when I try to keyframe scale using the Record button. It adds a keyframe but whenever I change scale at a different point in time it just uses the same value for every keyframe. To get it to work add your keyframes using the object’s Attributes window: Command click either the Radius in the Objects menu or the X,Y,Z scale values in the Coordinates menu.
I am no expert, so I don’t understand why the Record button is not recording the scale values. Perhaps someone else can shed some light on this.
