Have you tried contacting Jawset support? They have always been quick to respond when I’ve had questions in the past.

Could you please provide a file of your project showing the object (Subdivision Surface) which is containing the smoke before you turned it into a polygon object and added the TurbFD Emitter tag to it?

I’m getting the same result as you did. Why, is another question. To me it looks like an issue with the geometry of the collision object, but I have not yet figured out how to fix it. I don’t use TurbFD very often, so this may be a good time for me to get better acquainted with it. I’ll let you know if I have any luck.

While I am certainly no expert, I would be glad to run your file and report on the results.

If you have X-Particles you could create some fast particles with trails and short life spans that follow the smaller brain’s exterior. Give them some self-illumination and they could very easily create a nice neuron look. As I have become accustomed to using X-Particles for all of my particle needs I don’t know if C4D’s built in particle system could do something similar, but you may want to look into it.

The Extrude in R17 is what used to be Extrude NURBS in earlier versions. For some reason they dropped the NURBS designation from all the options in that menu. HyperNURBS is now Subdivision Surface, and the Lathe, Sweep, Extrude, Loft, and Bezier options all dropped the “NURBS” following their names.

March 8, 2016 at 6:50 pm in reply to: Calling experts for flower growing and blooming and tree growth…Unfortunately there is not a “grow” effect in C4D to automatically grow a model like you were hoping to do. Without using plugins like Xfrog you must animate splines or hair to create trunk and branch growth, or use Mograph for similar effects. You can find several tutorials on these methods online. As always, Google is your friend.
There is not much you can do with a tree model other than to animate its scale, but I doubt that that is the look you’re going for.

Not knowing what you specifically mean by “brightness” I would have to guess that you most likely increased the intensity of your lighting or increased the Brightness parameter in a material channel.
By the way, did you ever solve your issue with dynamics tags?
