You should be able to drag the fbx files into the view window in C4D to import them. And it sounds like you just may need to bind the joints to the skin of the models if they’re not coming in that way. If you haven’t seen these yet, watch these two tutorials from Greyscalegorilla and see if they don’t answer your questions. If they don’t, post again and I’ll see if I can help you out further.

Quick question.Since each different video plays at the point where the roboarm has brought the board down, all you need is one render from C4D where the roboarm comes down, stops, and then retracts. What is essentially the same as what you have done by time remapping, you could split the render into two parts and simply make a still image in AE of the frame where the arm has stopped that is as long as necessary for each video, and then composite your video into that still frame. When the video ends, the second half of the rendered movie plays to retract the arm. If the video board was moving while each video played you would have to render each one out from C4D, but in your case (unless I misunderstood) you are essentially playing the video inside a still image. Other than that, I don’t see any other way of avoiding rendering each scene in C4D, but it’s really unnecessary.

If you sincerely wish to assist those who have questions about C4D, post a link and some helpful commentary when someone specifically asks for information that one of your quick tips would address. Otherwise you’re just taking up posting space.
With all respect, using a computer generated voice-over seems a bit tacky and unprofessional. If you can’t speak the language, or are uncomfortable doing the narration, it’s better to enlist someone else’s voice talents. And it’s best not to rate your own quick tips as “outstanding.” Let your viewers be the judge of that.

I’ve been experimenting with other modifiers (Vortex, ie.) but haven’t been able to get the spinning effect you’re looking for. If I come up with something I’ll let you know.

As Brian suggested, a Target tag will keep the camera pointing at the tumbleweed, and thus keep it in the center of the shot. If you want the camera to remain even with the tumbleweed as it bounces, and not pivot vertically to maintain the shot, you can create an Xpresso driver tag for the Y position as I mentioned in a previous response. If I remember correctly the tumbleweed doesn’t bounce much after it gets rolling, so either option should work without inducing motion sickness. 😉

I’m glad that I could point you in the right direction with the videos, but as I am no expert with X-Particles I’m not sure I can help but will be glad to try. Please correct me if I am wrong, but from your last question it seems that you are not happy with the results following the effect of the flock -> land Change Group Modifier. Is that right? If the particles are not responding as you would like it would be because of the modifiers that are being applied to that new group. Use whatever modifiers you need, and animate their properties, in order to control the particles while they are assigned to that group. If I am misunderstanding your question please point to the frame range in your project that you are having difficulty with.
Though I only use X-Particles sporadically, I have had fairly quick responses to any technical questions by contacting Insydium support through their web site. There is also a forum on their site, but I’m not sure how active and helpful the responders are since I have never posted there.

In reference to Adam’s first observation, have you researched gimbal lock, and how to avoid it? And again, by watching only a video, and without a project file, we can only guess at what you’re trying to do.
