Thanks Pena, that will help quite a bit actually.

  • Thanks. That worked a treat. I’m sure I tried that before, but it wouldn’t play until I’d rendered it (changing duration of clip in timeline) ?!?

Oh well, works now. Ta a bunch.

Blimey, didn’t realise you could get shapes as complex as that out of Invigorator/Pro Animator..thought you could only do a standard flat/bevelled extrusion of a 2D AI file. Good stuff!

    Use VirtualDub: https://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/virtualdub/VirtualDub-1.6.17.zip?download

Tis free and very good. Strips out VOB files (dvd files) to uncompressed AVI and you can set in & out points for just the bits you want, which is useful if you only want a 30 second clip from a 2hr file!

I work with Digibeta footage via SDI in PAL (720×576 @ 1.44par for 16:9)

I think I’d rather keep my PSDs, etc at 720×576 at the correct PAR, otherwise it will screw up my decklink output for AE/PS, etc.

Thanks for the input though..I’ll stick with interpreting each sequence as I being it into PPro for now! Post on here though if anyone thinks of a more elegant way to automate this..

It’s a shame PPro doesn’t do actions or something similar to PS, then I could just assing a hotkey to do it each time.

    TMPGEnc is very good: https://www.tmpgenc.net

There is a free version and also a bunch of other purchase versions. TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 is only $37 and should be all you need.

    Ah..it is only PC though..

Hadn’t thought of that…might try it. I do like to keep my finished flattened files separate to my COMPd PSDs though and an easy to tell between them in explorer is by filetype. We sometimes use a DVS clipstation to share files aswell, so it needs to be a file sequence, it won’t read PSDs. Can you PSD sequences btw?

Would Blackmagic Live Key do it? I’ve not used it myself, but it’s software that comes with any BMD Decklink card. You can specify fades in/out in seconds aswell I think..

Could you master it to a dual-layer DVD? Then get it pressed at a plant? Obviously depends how many copies you are doing as to whether it’s worth the cost, but ‘pressed’ DVD can hold almost twice as much as a standard DVD-R.

February 5, 2007 at 12:01 pm in reply to: how do i permanently move an objects rotation point?

You can’t do it permenently I don’t think..it resets to the middle each time you re-transform.

however..just had a thought, if you save it as a smart object then I *think* it will remember..try it. Not in front of PS myself right now.
