Hi, I often use TGA sequences with an Alpha channel to add to standard editing software. I use it for animating titles in and out.

But if this tv-station wants to use realtime tga sequences with a key signal, which hardware tga players are there? I

Would Blackmagic Live Key do it? I’ve not used it myself, but it’s software that comes with any BMD Decklink card. You can specify fades in/out in seconds aswell I think..

There may be better ways of doing it now, but this sort of thing is why I started working on a dpsReality system. You can render frames to its drive and it automatically sees them as a video clip, so there’s no rendering. It’s got genlock input and key channel output. We render sports animations as TGA32 frames to the video drive, throw the unit into our truck, and have keyable animations to play during our live sports telecasts. Since the dpsReality has been around a long time, they’re relatively cheap too. I have one at home as well.
