Have you checked the Batch window to see if there are any other processes running without you knowing?

I assume you mean straight off tape on a broadcast monitor correct? I do not have a broadcast monitor however if I view the tapes themselves on the same screen as the Bluray master, the tapes look much better than the BluRay. Some artifacts but not nearly as much as the bluray.

Maybe you can also explain why I could edit the tracks in Soundtrack?

Thanks for all the detailed info. The issue for me here is Encore… I believe Encore is only available with the Premiere package which is around $700 (I don’t have any older version to upgrade from enabling me to purchase the upgrade version at a cheaper price). Not going to spend that money just for Encore so it looks like Toast may be my only option for the moment.

What file format does Encore like if an M2v is problematic?

I considered the internal drive but thought that maybe if I got an external drive I could potentially use it with my PC if I couldn’t get decent enough authoring software to create nice menus for the Blurays for Mac.

I’ve gotten used to editing with longer clips so in a way I’m resisting change. heheheh. However your point is well taken as I am starting to receive HD jobs now so I may as well start getting used to the multiple clips. Thanks for all of your help!!

So the last question is… if I capture straight to Prores,is there a way to avoid FC making separate clips each time the camera starts and stops during the capture process??

Ok… so I can capture in the native format (HDV 1080/60i) but once I get it into my Sequence, conform the footage to the ProRes setting in the Sequence. Correct?
