AE has two h.264 output options. The m4v output occurs when you select h.264 Blu-ray option. For an mp4 file select just the the “h.264” option which is directly above the h.264 Blu-ray option.

I have made numerous shots of over 21 minutes and never had an issue with the camera “stopping” nor have I ever heard of a GH2/GH3 simply stopping at that point. From what I have seen most issues that some have had with any HDSLR camera can be traced to cheap or slow SD cards (or a card that is going bad, it happens), off brand batteries or power supplies or in the case of the GH2, a hacked camera with an unstable firmware update. I have used the Flowmotion hack for a long time and shot many very long clips and never had an issue but I use real GH2 batteries and fast, high quality SD cards.

There is only one condition with my GH2 (not sure if this applies to the C100) where I need to bring in all of the files and that is when I have a clip that I know will span multiple files. In that case you need the folder structure and all of the files for Premier to put the spanned files together. Since I rarely have a clip that meets the above condition I use just the MTS file 99.9% of the time and nave never encountered an issue.

5DtoRGB works on PC’s as well as Apple, I only use PC’s and have used it extensively.

I use the GH2 and Flowmotion in Premier Pro (CS6) and even though the MTS files always work well I always ( unless I have a span issue ) run them through Cineform’s NeoScene and use the AVI’s produced by the app in PPro. NeoScene is no longer being sold but prior to my use of it I was using 5DtoRGB in the same manner. 5DtoRGB is free and it can produce Avid DNxHD output.

I had a case like this a couple of years ago, turned out the sound was coming from an adjoining room. We did not notice it while we were in the room but heard it clearly in the recording. I used the Noise Reduction Process to eleminate most of it. Here is what I did:
1) Captured a noise print from 3.35 to 3.70
2) Select Effects, Noise Reduction/Restoration, Noise Reduction (process)
3) Set Noise Reduction to 63%
4) set Reduce By to 30 db
5) Set Spectral Decay Rate to 65%
6) Set Smoothing to 1
7) Set Precision Factor to 7
8) Set Transistion Width to 0%
9) And most important, adjust the blue line in the graph area. I set the 0 hz point to -30, 2k to -60, 4k to -75, 6k to -80, at 7k I dropped down to -100 and ran a flat line to the end.Hopefully the image attached of this graph.

I don’t use PF tracker but I have written a lot of software and this message indicates that the variable “framerate” has not been initialized with a value within the application. This could be a bug in the application or it might indicate there is a preference related to the frame rate has not been set. I would start with double checking anyplace where you can select or type in a frame rate. If the selector(s) allow you to type in a value I would try that as I have see many cases where a drop-down type selector looks like it has the correct value but the program does not see that value until manually selected again or typed in.

I had the same problem with a shot where I wanted to stick flashing text on the side of a boat that moves though the scene. I simply cut the part of the clip where I knew I could get a clean track and used that in the camera tracker. When I finished the effect, I inserted the AE portion back into the timeline with the non-tracked footage on either side.

It was not a Panasonic brand, rather an off-brand I found on Amazon. It’s fine for still shots and video where the audio won’t be used but useless otherwise. You might try posting your question on the GH thread at dvxuser forum, there are lots of GH users on that site, here is the link.

A little off topic but FYI I tried to use a A/C power supply for the GH2 at a shoot that went over 3 hours and found that the A/C unit threw out so much interference that it completely wiped out the audio. I was using a direct audio feed from the audio mixer board at the event but with the A/C adapter the audio was unusable. Once I switched back to batteries the audio was fine. I was using multiple cameras which allowed me to cover the battery change with video from the alternate camera(s).
