I was having the exact same problem. Here’s the solution: Hold down the shift key when you open up Audition. That will reset things and you should be able to adjust the volume again. It worked for me,

I am having the exact same problem. I have been trying everything but the volume levels just won’t budge. I know that’s not much of a help to you but at least you know your not the only person this is happening to.
If I get a solution I will post.

Thank you, that worked perfectly. I even customized a setting so that I can get the right mix every time by clicking just one button.

Is there any way to perform this process on multiple audio clips at once?

I might have 20 or more audio clips for every scene of my movie and doing this process one clip at a time can be a bit cumbersome.

Here is the AE steps

I import the footage with teh 29 fps in it to Ae
I create a composition in Ae with the footage
I go to composition settings and change the frame rate to 24 fps
I click on frame blending
double click the switch to advance frame blending
and render

Walter, thanks for the help. Maybe I shouldn’t be looking to hard at solving the mystery and I should just be happy that there is a simple solution. And I should leave it at that.

Okay I followed your instructions and it worked – I think – – the footage runs longer and syncs up.

But now my mind is sort of blown- – here’s why:

There must be some sort of trade off using this technique as opposed to using the much longer technique of re setting the frame rate in after effects (in fact, even when I reset the fram rate in after effects, it still would not sync up). This method (hitting modify and reinterpret at 23.976) is sooooo much easier, but am I losing something in the trade off. As far as I can tell the footage looks good – but I am looking at it on a small monitor. If this is all that is required, then why would anyone recommend the long process of resetting the footage in after effects.

Sorry if this is a bit rambling. Thanks much for your help.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Interesting idea to check quicktime.

Quicktime is showing the T3i footage as 29.97 fps. I am not sure how that solves my issue, but I guess its another clue in the mystery.

I tried your suggestion, the short cuts are working on most sequences but not all. Can’t figure out why some but not all.
