    Hi,

I’ve been having a similar problem taking quicktimes from AE to FCP to lay off to tape. Basically, the gamma of everything was getting raised by .2 when laying off to tape, so when the client imported into Avid a quicktime off dvd and then the same clip from tape, they didn’t match up. Nightmare. After a hell of a lot of testing and research, I found the only solution was to go into the Kona control panel on the FCP machine and change the gamma and black level settings. FCP is a nightmare to work with, not enough ‘professional’ settings to tweak, so we now render out HD tiff sequences, take them into Avid and lay off from there.

    Hope this helps. Good luck!

    No using version 5.
Not sure if can alter clip gamma in 5?
