Never mind SOLVED . Junky white line is caused by adding the c4d render settings straight or separate alpha, and then only appears in PS output. Shifting the camera lens around fixed the sky anomaly (not related to planets).

I’m using it on all the spare computers in the house, just sitting there doing nothing… works great. Not sure how you get it to work over the open internet however, but as long as you can give the clients a reachable IP for the server, you should be good to go.

Did you ever fix – ha – this was 5 years ago already – but i got this problem now, but just in Net render, and not render to picture. cheers!

  • I’m gunna try and get another year from my 2008 iMac and MBP (selling my MacPro this week, it’s useless in my solar-powered office). The other two run ML, but that’s about as far as they will go, my bet. Perhaps in another year there will be more retina display options instead of inside a throwaway toaster. I’m all for buying machines that stay valid and last for at least 4 years…

[Jeremy Garchow] “Small little GUI elements “
whoa, wait. my Fcpx is at 10.0.4 which came out before the retina, and the only thing MAS wants to update is Motion content (1gb worth). That sounds like a lot more than GUI elements. Trying to download now, but MAS is super slow in this part of the world…but thx for helping me understand what this is all about…

EDIT: My MAS is broke… not seeing updates there, but on the store I see they exist…FCPX at .05… arg. But I get how small GUI elements would get messed up at 200+ppi vs. the old resolution.

good questions Brooks. I am also wondering…also why all the Motion content was updated (As well as other apps) for the new display? What’s that all about… perhaps you have to use updated content to get the most outta the new display… huh?

I just don’t get it… batteries glued to the case and memory soldered to the board… what are they thinking? I guess they expect folks to just buy a new computer now every 2 years. But thanks for your review on the display… I have no problem with the current generation of displays… they look pretty darn good to me as is. especially when you connect a thunderbolt 27″er to it 🙂

  • ha, so true Adam! Been trying to use since V6, and I am using V10 Xstream today. I think they finally built a stable version (not nearly as many hangs as in (9/9.5). For atmospheres- environments – terrains (plants rocks water) it’s great, but for cornucopia object content, well, I better get some sleep first. I am working on an extension of this tutorial: https://library.creativecow.net/articles/gaton_jiggy/c4d_poser_vue_integration/video-tutorial, and hopefully will get an answer from E-On soon so I can explain this process (replacing shaders with your own)…cheers!

ps. If you want to try at home, I am just trying to replace the decals on the ferrari panels found in the file at /Scenes/Showcase/12_Product Showcase.vue on the Xtras DVD.
