I don’t know anywhere else in the world where you can read Gomer Pyle quotes, so I guess I’m in…but not sure how qualified a user I am, as I still have not gotten CatDV to work in Snow Leopard…but I sure hope to hear from CatDV support team soon.

Btw, I took a re-look at Final Cut Server 1.5, and I am certainly not going down that road…unless I have to:)

Yes Rafael, I get that, but the TV has no bars like a real monitor. Or do you mean just adjust the settings on the TV to the bars…I wish I could find a tut on this poorman’s correction! Anyway, my plan was to just fire up Color 1.5 and be able to see the output on the TV, but alas, all the options to send the picture via firewire to my camera/TV setup are grayed out, unlike in FCP. Arg… but thx!!!

that’s a strange little device…doubt any of the newer macs support it, as it looks to be dependant on the display driver (used at the time) with a limitation to 1024×768…interesting bit of history however:)

I was going to post this on yesterday’s thread, but heck I’m here and the internet in this village is really slow…so can u describe your color correction/calibration technique using a TV hooked up to a camera hooked up to FCP? Just an update to this post as I am trying this in iMovie 09. It does not seem possible. The “Viewer on Secondary Monitor” only goes to another RGB monitor hooked to the mac. You can have your camera hooked to a broadcast monitor (or whatever TV) but you can only see anything on that when you are capturing, but not editing. Too bad!

Yes Rafael, thx for that. Do you know the settings in FCP I need to make to make this so? Is it just as simple as as Audio/Video Settings: Device Control Preset: Firewire Pal and Video Playback Apple FireWire Pal (720×576)? Waiting for the cam to return from the shoot now to test – thx again for your help! btw, have you done this before: in lieu of not having a field monitor/cabling/MXO, etc?

Ha! That’s a total hoot. To get something done right in FCP, use Avid. Perhaps they could use that slogan in their marketing campaigns. I am determined to find a fix for this considering all the investment in FCS 3. I am getting closer. I downloaded an FCP project and PSD template file from a tip on another forum here on the cow:

This has potential, but I don’t understand what the author did in the FCP project, but I am testing it now to see if I can finally have a workflow with smooth credits. I’ll try and post back the results of testing here, if I can remember:)

Hi, has this been tested in Motion 4? I can get clean text in the scroll, but the motion is jerky in the upward motion. I am using XDCAM HD 1080p30 all the way thru the settings, but I get these little jerks here and there. Right now teaching a one-on-one tut to client, and this is kinda embarrassing. Any help? I tried to recreate the same scroll in FCP, and I get pretty much the same results there as well.I have all my scratch set to a FW800 drive, and I am using a new Imac. Thx!!!
