Not sure if anyone is still following this thread, but I actually recently discovered that the flickering happens with almost anything. For example, I placed a simple .jpg imagine in the timeline and surely enough, later it began to flicker. Not sure what to think about this now.

I would think that to be the issue if other projects I hadn’t touched before this didn’t immediately have the same issue when I opened them. I suppose it’s still possible, and I didn’t realize you could actually cut and paste between projects.

I guess as a last resort until I find a fix I just have to leave Vegas up 100% of the time if it does this to new projects as well, which i’m too scared to test ’til I render my project later tonight.

I just went through a variety of checks, such as removing all recent Windows updates, system restoring, re-installing graphics drivers and Vegas multiple times, etc. Nothing seems to work. This issue is sometimes present on other project files, but never as much as my current main one. New projects seem to work fine, but I haven’t gotten far enough to see if they’ll eventually have issues too..

I know something happened that I missed to cause all of this.. This issue is quite close to ending my entire video editing hobby as a whole. Nothing makes sense.

Please help – as many times as i’ve asked that and as many times i’ve received said help..

    Gotta be something i’m missing..

I also noticed that all my .veg files were not recognized by Vegas after the reboot..

Gonna try a reinstall and see if that helps, it didn’t last time.

Hmmm.. I was forced to reboot and now the same issue is present again. Any idea what I can do, or should I just wait it out like last time?

I have the most recent display drivers, so i’m guessing that wasn’t my problem.

Thanks for the information, i’ll try to switch to an secondary internal drive as soon as I can. For now i’m just going to render the project in pieces, then combine them and render them again.

I’m pretty sure that’s spot on. I recently received Windows updates, and I’m pretty sure that’s what caused it. I then downloaded the newest video driver and it seems to be working.. for now.

Thanks again, I truly appreciate your time.

I am not putting my video files on a seperate drive, just C:. Could this be causing my problem?

As for hardware, i’ve got about 700 GB left on my terabyte drive, 4 GB of ram, Quadcore processor, etc. It’s a relatively new computer, and I’ve had no upgrades since I started Vegas.

Sorry for yet another post, but I was rendering pieces of the broken project (quite difficult when you can’t see the tracks/timeline..) to put into an old backup file, and of course when I attempted to close and then re-open this backup file it was also broken. I figured it was a problem with the footage until I attempted to open a VERY old backup file and it didn’t work either, and I hadn’t touched that one for a long, long time. What is going on..?

Oh, hah! I just discovered that projects not even related to this one are ruined as well..

Please, someone know how to fix this.

Also, I have tried other projects and they have worked fine. I did NOTHING before I exited out of Vegas last to cause this.
