Thanks for your replies. I have a DVD player that plays back the AVI disc that I made and it looked very poor. I have asked the client to please use the MPEG2 discs that I sent as well.

Thanks, I’ve tried that and the deck takes off about 90 MPH looking for those other clips. I have had it work some like this in the past but trashing prefs took care of it

Thanks Jerry (I have your FCP Book) I have it selected in the browser, like one clip in this case. If I have multiple clips I usually use the pulldown that says ‘all offline clips’ or i will select those and choose ‘selected clips’
I already have FCP 5.0.4 and QT 7.0.4.
It should say in the dialogue ‘1 clip’ and the length but it is for some reason showinging two lines, one saying 6 clips and another saying 8 clips. I somehow have to clear these for batch capture to work properly. Not my deck just takes off looking for clips that i’m not asking for. I am having to do everything as capture now which is a pain

Thanks Tom for the help. I am using the FCP Outline Text. First I have a series of six second freeze frame shots adjacent to each other. I make the text and drag it down over the six second freeze frame and drag the side to make it snap to the six second borders of the freeze frames. Say I have made twelve different pages of text over twelve six second freeze frames. I go back and look at the first one and it is the same as the last one. Sometimes I look at one in the middle and it has changed to the last one typed. I hope I have explained this well for you because it has caused me lots of wasted time. I know that if one of the pages is selected and new text or changes are made in the text box, the title changes.
I am not nesting anything.
