Thanks Neil for your reply!
Yes, my timeline is animation.
My source files are animation compression. They all play back fine in the timeline. They also play fine (when rendered) with cropped slugs as letterboxes and text over the letterbox. They also play fine in quicktime when exported with quicktime conversion (also animation). I have two files in particular that don’t. As far as I know, those two files are identical compression, fps, and size (720×486). At least when imported into fcp they indicate identical format.
just to note, all the source files play fine in quicktime.
I’m under the impression that if you want smooth playback and you want to minimize degradation, you are to have your timeline be identical to what your source files are. Am I doing going about this all wrong?
Thanks again!
Jesse
