I chose the render to be a FCP XML round-trip, which greys-out the Individual Source Clips option (though, for good measure, it’s selected anyway; I just couldn’t change it even if I wanted to).
I’m re-rendering now. Hopefully doing so, and and making sure to save before my XML export, will fix the issue…

Upgrading to 10.8.x did the trick. Thanks again for that.

So! Adding .mov did help me with getting Resolve to see that the clips exist. Unfortunately that led to me discovering more issues with the project, largely due to the director & post department not knowing how to do Red workflow effectively. C’est la vie, you got me through the problem I had at the time and I figured out how to get past the subsequent issues.

    Thanks1

As dumb as it sounds, that may have been the issue. The clips appear in Final Cut Pro no problem, and open up in QuickTime Player when I click on them in Finder…but don’t show .mov in spite of this. I’ve been on a different project but will get back to this one tomorrow. I’ll let you know.

Yeah, that was the issue. Upgraded to beta 3 and it seems back to normal. Thank you.

That’s the one. Upgraded to 8.2.1 b3 and it seems to be back to normal. Thanks!

  • Thanks for that–I was about to start a new thread to ask the same question. I’ll give it another week or two to see what Blackmagic ends up doing.

Question–since this is sort of inspiring me to invest in the second card that the config parameters recommend, and since the GTX 285 is discontinued, do you folks now recommend the 4000?

Thank you for that. I hadn’t used the Color Trace function before but will remember for the future (if it’s ever an issue again). Using Apple Cinema Tool was enough for the purposes of this project (low budget, past deadline).

Joseph–I changed the timeline settings, which may have accomplished something but the render window still limited my options to 23.98 and 24. I think, like Rohit implied, once a project is in motion it may not be possible to alter it in the way I needed to in this instance.
It had been 29.97, I changed it to 24, and needed it back at 29.97. It’s for broadcast in Brazil–I assume 29.97 is their thing, or the filmmaker just chose that for his own reasons. Apple Cinema Tools allowed me to change it to 29.97, and the audio was literally only one frame out of sync. Problem solved for now–better preparation will solve the problem in the future.
