Thanks Walter,
So, in this case, you would turn off keyframes and accept a 100MB file size rather than go with the 300 keyframe distance and get a file size that is 40% less??

I’m running the latest MacOS with a new vanilla external monitor that I got just so I could see vanilla sRGB. My understanding is that gamma is 2.2
And actually, safari looks the most like the source.
It’s Firefox that seems too dark.
But I’m mostly interested in my first question. Is that the only ICC information? That seems proprietary.

Nah. That won’t happen.
But can I make a video with a transparent background?

Not being allowed to edit posts results in more typos. I hope Cow took that into consideration.

Thanks Walter. I like that technique. I was skeptical it work to be honest. So long did struggle with blurry edge issues.
I have a problem though. Text comes in in precomps and precomps of precomps. And it doesn’t look so good.
One work around is to do two exports. One without the text. Then one with the text. Then I could simply layer them assuming the text video will have a transparent background. Is that possible?! Like a png with a transparent background? If so, this double export strategy would probably work because my stuff is very 2D vanilla.
I’m also wondering if I just scale the text whether it gets blurred by the bilinear scaling. I assume not.
Like I say, this is not pressing. I’m just wanna be ready for 16K video.

Thanks to both of you.
The scale composition script isn’t working for me. Might have something to do with the fact that my comps were created in AE2014 but I needed to open them in AE2015 to get the script.
But the script looks pretty simple and I’m not too worried about it.
The bigger issue is this. I have pixel perfect PS files that I have imported. Mostly rectangles. Just to get them to remain pixel perfect in AE, I needed to use a Matte Choker. About 10% of them would beed into neighboring pixels. There is some sort of Adobe bug that I tried to make sense of with the help of some folks here by clearing caches etc but to no avail. But the Matte Choker was my workaround for that Adobe bug and all was good.
But when I try and scale a composition containing those PS files, things get blurry and I get at least three edges instead of one.
I should have made my PS files at 1920*8 by 1080*8 to be ready for the day when we are watching at that uber duber resolution. But I didn’t. Now it appears, there is no easy fix. The text seems OK. But these edges don’t like to scale nicely even though the mathematics (as always!) is firmly on MY side.

Sorry, to keep asking, but I’ve yet to figure out what is going on. I need to understand why when I create an h.264 file with AE and AME and then reimport it into AE it shows up as Rec 709 file. Yes, I understand that Rec 709 is very similar to sRGB. But that doesn’t give the reason this is happening. Can one of you gurus please explain what this is about?
Thanks in advance.

Maybe somebody knows? Why does AE regard an sRGB file to be a REC 709 file? I’ve worked VERY HARD to understand and deal with the ins and outs of color management. But I haven’t heard any convincing explanation for why this should happen? Is it a bug? If not, why not?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks!
I put that in and it worked great. Thanks so much. You left out the last line though. I had to figure that out on my own. Hehe.
How different would you say .7 and .8 are? Say I have a yellow that is .8 and I have a brown that is .7 but I want them to be “similar” or “of the same family” or… Would a pro try and tweak them? Consider these titltes here: https://www.eyrolles.com/Accueil/Recherche/?q=a+book+apart&nb=20 Do they try and get the lightness to match?
Thanks again for all the help.

Right. I understand that.
But I still don’t understand what is going on? Isn’t this a bug? Why wouldn’t it tell me the profile that I gave it wholly in Adobe’s ecosystem?
It sure seems like a bug.
What about when I send my mp4 out into the world? Is it going to have a profile of sRGB? Or Rec709?
Why isn’t it just a bug? What makes it a feature?
