Thank you! That might be a bit too industrial. Will that work for text also?

It’s not short comps that causes it because I don’t have any short ones. I haven’t experimented with it this week, but as far as I remember, it maybe has something to do with the overall size of the layout. I did a bunch of syncing in Sep-Oct and noticed that sometimes it would be more zoomed. I didn’t care much. But now I actually would like that super zoom.

So you never noticed on your machine that sometimes zoomed in all the way is more zoomed than other times?

Right, I saw you mentioned this in another thread. I won’t be using mp3s, but unfortunately, it is still too late to avoid problems as I already synced to them. Now I need to move the real .wav audio by what looks like about 23 milliseconds before rendering. But there are multiple projects, so I want to make sure what the actual delay time is and whether that is the only problem.

Thanks Kalle for taking all the time to clarify that. I gave up and decided to hire a professional! Hehe.

And one more question. They describe it as a translucent app. And to a novice like me, it seems translucent. But to your trained eyes, what is translucent about it?

    Thanks Kalle,

Do you think there is any systematic way to choose four colors for a given color?

I have 25 or so different projects. So I would need 100 or so colors. It actually took me a very long time to find the 25 colors.

I’m amazed that you can see four colors in those images. (Remember I’m not really a designer.) How do you know there are four?

And why do you need the radial effect on top of the 4 color effect?

And how do you know it is radial and not linear?

You must have some good eyes!

    Thanks Kalle,

I was asking about the brown that is right around the round white head shots. You mentioned brown in your first response, so you seemed to know what I was asking about.

But, to be 100% clear, I’m asking what the app designer for that brown app would use in AE to make that app assuming he started with some kind of brown solid or at least a brown hexidecimal number. Assume he can’t use Photoshop or another program.

    Thanks John,

So you say I should use CC light sweep, a gradient, noise, and then a directional blur? So four effects?

I’m sorry, but I’ve really only used a few effects. I’m a time re-map master, but a novice with almost everything else.

What effect do you use for the gradient?

Did they use reflection maps for that cellphone app?

Is there any kind of plugin I can buy?

I’m a bit surprised there isn’t some effect called “Reflective Glass” that you can just slap onto solids. Or again, “Brushed Metal”; I see guys construct a brushed metal look using noise and several steps.
