I am in fact using iDVD, and it does fit onto the DVD (after I posted last night), but it took at least 2 hours to burn. That seems excessive to me, but is it a normal burn time?

Thanks– just wondering why you don’t use it. Does it cause any problems running other programs?

Thanks to all who answered my post. I was trying to avoid the extra step of going from VHS to MiniDV simply because I have several hours of tape to dub, but it looks like that is the overwhelming opinion of those in the know. Thanks again for the advice…
