Unless you’re a scientist of some sort, I reckon it’s a matter of trial and error. Having said that, most noises I usually eliminate are pretty obvious (wet mouth noises are tall and skinny etc). A cough would sit around the middle to high end of things, so try leave the bottom alone, if that makes sense. Look for the lighter coloured blob that looks like it doesn’t belong, haha!

How are you removing the spaces? Zoom right in to the start and ends, select the space you want gone, and hit delete on your keyboard.

Try “Save Copy As” as a regular mp3, not mp3pro (I don’t trust mp3pro), and see how that goes.

To be honest, I can only tell the difference between a 128kbps mp3 and a 256kbps mp3 through my studio speakers. There’s honestly not that much audio loss that the human ear can discern in 128kbps file.

I’d imagine they’re trying to save in Adobe’s mp3PRO format, which only goes to 128kbps, and is a bit of a dodgy codec. See if they can’t change the file type to a plain jane mp3, I’ve uploaded a picture of how they do this.

    Gday!

What I’d personally do, is take the entire music clip into the multitrack view, and split the clip so that you have three sections… the music before you want it slowed down, the part you want slowed down, and the music after the slowed down part.

Create uniqe copies of these 3 clips (right click on them), and then slow down your middle clip the way you want it (dooo riii meee, haha). Arrange the clips in the multitrack view so it’s all lined up and sounds good, and create a mixdown!
