I have 3 Media 100’s patched to a router along with 2 DVCAM DSR-80 decks and a Beta BVW-70. We lay off our spots on BetaSP and then Redig to the server. With the new company taking over soon, I’m trying to get my ducks in a row, and be prepared to do things differently. I fear my beloved Media 100’s will be making an exit… I think the new company prefers FCP. Bummer

    Hey Michael,

Nice to see there are more Media 100’s in Bako!

How do you move around spots in your facility?

Ya, I hear you guys. My GM asked me to look into it, but I can’t find a faster way to get the spots to my Master Control Room. If my producer has 30 :30 “Bag & Tags” on his time line, they take 30 seconds each to lay off on a tape. To render them out in a QT H264 would take about 3 minutes each. I would be increasing the amount of time it takes him 6 fold. There would be no increase in quality.

I’m just wondering how stations that are tapeless make it work.

    That’s a great tip. I’ll try that.

Unchecking the “remember last saved project” does not seem to work for my system. This tip will save me a load of time. Thanks!

Well, unfortunatly I started getting the bad frame errors, I did not think that was related. I deleted all of the media that had the odd looking icons. I do have a Medea SCSI drive… I guess I’ll start backing up the projects!

Did you have the video media files that had the odd looking icons?

The Disk utilty did not catch anything. I’m running Norton Disk Doctor on it now. I did notice, while going through the raid drive, in the media folders that about 5-10 percent of the video file icons were different. The icons looked like a gray square page with the media 100 file icon smaller right in the middle of it with a circle around it. Any idea why some of the icons look different. They seem to play ok in media 100, although I can’t open them in Q.T.

No screen changes. It’s been the same for over a year. I will run disk-utility on all the drives molmentarily. Thanks for taking the time to give your thoughts on this very frustrating issue.

It shows 8.2.3 but it does not show “a”. It’s been running this version for awhile with little problem. This freeze issue came pretty quick. Nothing’s been added to the system. No changes I’m aware of.

That’s interesting. Was this an issue from the start, or did it pop up later down the road? This bug just popped up in the last week. Had worked pretty good for almost two years.

I just put new cables on it and the terminator checks out ok. Still no go. I going to try now to digitize to my internal drive and see where that gets me. Any other ideas?

    Thanks!
