Tried to open the expansion slot utility and it gives the error “Expansion slot utility is not intended to run on this system”.

    I have 8gb of ram.

Checking on the Atto drivers now.

    G5 Dual 3.2QC intel Xeon running 10.5.6
    ATTO ExpressPCI UL5D SCSI card

    Slot 1 video card
Slot 3 Aja Kona LHe card
    Slot 4 Atto Card

    I don’t remember why they’re in this order… but I must have had a reason… 8>)

I don’t have the ProRes codec, and I believe I have to have Final cut to get that (correct me if I’m wrong)
Drives should be fast enough. 1.5tb “huge systems” raid array and a Dual Channel SCSI card “up to 320mb per channel” (atto ul5d).
Also tried playing of of my internal Sata raid… same problem.

I got a little more life out of my card by opening opening the mac up and GENTLY wiggling the card and make sure it was seated. It would then work for awhile then it would act up again. Eventually I had to have mine replaced by Media 100.

I have rebuilt the drive using Disk Warrior pro, and Media 100 is now importing the media correctly.

Thanks for the help Wick & Floh!

Sorry, Rendering from After Effects CS3. Working with Wick, we have it traced to a drive issue. If I render it to my “Huge Systems” 1.5tb Raid it gives me the error. If I take that same file and Copy it to my internal Raid it “Quick Imports” perfectly. This is a new issue that just started today for me. Disk permissions are the same on both raid drives. Disk utility and Disk warrior show no errors on the drive.

I have been using this drive for a long time, and clips that I previously used in media 100 will not import (although if they are already in the bin they play fine)

I have down graded to QT 7.5 and upgrade Media 100 to 12.7… and the issue remains. I will start further troubleshooting on Monday.

Thanks To Wick for helping me resolve my other issue.

Installed QT 7.6 and the problem still exists. Is anyone else experiencing this our is my system just “Special”?

QT 7.5 (Not 7.5.5) I’m thinking of making the leap to 7.6 to see if it fixes the issue since Wick gave it a green light.

    Codec: Media 100 HD 8-bit

Kona LHe Control Panel Format: 525i29.97

    After Effects 8.0.2.27
    Comp: 720×486 D1/DV NTSC (0.9) 29.97fps

That’s all of the settings I can think of…
