  • Problem solved. I created a new sequence in Premiere and created as many blank audio tracks (standard) as I had in my original sequence. Then I selected all clips in my original timeline, copied and pasted everything to the new sequence.

When exporting to Audition, there are no split tracks anymore, all clips are either mono or joint stereo.

Thanks for your help. Sounds great.

I’m working with Red Epic footage. So basically, just leave color management off and work on your rec.709 calibrated monitor. Makes sense. Much simpler, and faster indeed.

I’d love to get this checked by someone experienced with color management before I get started.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Thanks guys, the Shift channels effect does give better result than blending modes. Yes, my dust element is on a black background.

I remember hearing of a method that involved using several instances of the same element with different blending modes, or adding solid layers in between.

Is there another method, one that would retain the exact density of the original element? So that it appears fully opaque where opaque and transparent where transparent, but without having to overexpose.

  • Thanks Dave, Thanks Blaise – built-in 3D tracker seems to be working much better so far.

  • Thanks Blaise, I am checking out AFX 3D cam tracker right now.

Dave, the shot I’m working on at the moment is a wide, handheld shot of a desert. There is no pan or tilt or track, just a natural floating handheld move. Already tried Mocha and 2D track won’t do. SynthEyes usually gives me the best results when I need to hit several contact points on wall or ground.

There’s a small puddle on the ground, quite close to the camera, that needs to be massive. I’m using 3D track to basically stick my massive puddle layer on the ground, but at the moment it’s floating, likely because it doesn’t perfectly match with all the trackers on the ground. I have a number of similar shots to work on, including extending a rock wall, so I’m hoping there’s a faster, more accurate technique to align a layer with several 3D trackers than by hand?

    Many thanks
    Jeremy

Thanks. I already called HP and Blackmagic and none of them can tell me for sure, which is a bit of a problem. I’ve also looked on the web for a while but haven’t found more info either. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for your reply. When you say ‘Extreme edition’ do you mean the 2K card? Cause on their website I can only see either the Decklink Studio or the HD extreme which is a PCI 4x card.

Also if I’m not using HP, would you know a reliable online company where I could configure my new machine and have it shipped?

    Thanks
    Jeremy
