July 19, 2012 at 7:29 pm in reply to: SWF video will not play in FIREFOX or SAFARI but fine in IE and CHROMEHi again
I have been trying to use the code on a test page most of the day but no luck. I think I’m going to have to go and use youtube as a video source and iframe the video into the page instead.
From looking around the net it seems that there are a number of people and sites that know how to fix it but I can’t make heads or tails out of their description of what to do, so although its easily fixed according to those who know how, is proving a dead end for me and a massive time consumer 🙁
Fortunately youtube is a decent (although ugly) alternative!
Thanks again

July 19, 2012 at 11:29 am in reply to: SWF video will not play in FIREFOX or SAFARI but fine in IE and CHROMEHi again Curtis
I’ve put this thread on dreamweaver but while I’m waiting to get some feedback I thought would check something by you if you have a moment?
I looked up “flash cross browser” and found an “object” code that people were using in place of dreamweavers swf player code..
I replaced the entire swf player code with that object code changing just the details that I needed to to get the swf to point to my swf file. However the result is exactly the same.
The code I’m talking about is from this site:
https://www.coffeecup.com/forums/website-design-and-development/flash-object-tag-that-works-cross-browser-without-embed-and-vali/?page=1&forum_user_posts_per_page=allI would have thought there would be more on this on google though but that seemed to be the only page that was clear on it and its quite an old one? Any other suggestions in case no one gets back to me on the other forum?
thanks again

June 26, 2012 at 10:25 pm in reply to: Is it possible to switch the shadows on an image with the highlights?Hi thanks for the suggestion, much appreciated…
I tried it but couldn’t quite get a realistic enough look with the technique. None of the blending modes seemed to like the idea. It may be because of it being a skin tone or I’m missing something in the workflow you suggested?

Wow in that case massive kudos to them as that surely would have taken some serious man hours to tweak?
Was it done in after effects then? or maya?

sounds like what I was thinking. Wondering how much is still manually done though. can’t think of an expression that would do enough work to stop the manual work enough for a fast worflow on this?

June 15, 2012 at 10:41 am in reply to: Sound effector cloner object does not render, what am I forgetting?I guess its a little bug in the UI. Windows may have caused the broken link randomly (as I’ve seen it in the past on other systems and other software) but good to know to check for broken links before rendering as a step in my workflow in future seeing as cinema can forget a visual reference to the break.
thanks again.

June 13, 2012 at 10:04 pm in reply to: Sound effector cloner object does not render, what am I forgetting?Hi
Thanks for the reply, I relinked the audio file and appears to have worked..
But before I had done so I looked at the settings for the tag and the link was there all fine and the audio file was in place and had not been moved.. Then after I relinked there was no change in the settings that I could see at all… So am curious is there a bug that can break a link this way without any visual reference within cinema4d?
It seems like a really bad thing that can potentially lose a massive amount of time on a render of a longer project as there is no way to guarantee the link is fine. Or could it be a windows issue?
Thanks again for the help, at least the initial problem is solved.. Just a worry for future use of the tag…

May 20, 2012 at 7:46 am in reply to: Cinema 4D Animation moving wrong in After effects CS4Hi Isaac
thanks for the reply. Unfortunately my initial animation also includes null objects and the problem is that those also are out of sync once in after effects.
The whole animation which is split into sections has null objects and object buffers etc but more than half of the sections are perfect on the export from cinema4d and only these last sections are not. There isn’t anything different in the export settings either hence why I’m stumped! I was just posting here incase there was an after effects end problem I’m missing rather than on the cinema4D end.
thanks again
