Thx for your response. I actually got it figured out. I had all those things on both systems. Turns out one was just running a different version of 12.5. Updated and fixed. But good point on the lower overhead of PCM. We plan to utilize Premiere’s attach proxies feature so on output or the push of the proxy button it will auto use the full Rez material. Thx.

Discovered the issue!! The path style has to be basic otherwise AE converts it’s thickness to a shape.

I want to be able to animate each individual stroke drawing on. If I bring it in as an illustrator file I would have to animate all that by hand with masks following the strokes or using the draw on tool. All of which would take forever. Having the strokes as individual strokes in AE allows you to use the trim paths feature to automatically draw on the strokes. I do it all the time but for some reason this illustrator file’s paths get converted to filled shapes in AE.

Seriously nobody has had this issue? We have an older Ultra Studio thunderbot breakout box on our Mac Pro Trash Can and that thing is the loudest thing in the room. The little 1u breakout box’s fan just howls. Was hoping somebody had tried replacing a fan on one of these older cards.

I think you misunderstood my question. I was only wondering if there was any downside to the 1MB interleaved setting versus my usual 256KB interleave?
Wasn’t really complaining about anything else. Yes I could possibly use some more storage eventually. But I have 2 8TB Raid 5s at the moment and am fine with them for now. I do plan this year to purchase and build a SSD raid for 1200MBs plus performance for current projects with the Raid 5s as more if a fast backup storage.
My system has 32 cores of Xeon power, 3xGTX 680 4GB cards, Black Magic IO, SSD boot drives, etc. Scored 9 fastest in the world on Sandra benchmark last December. I can play multiple 5K RED epic tracks at full Rex in Premiere without dropping a frame with full IO. Performance is not the issue. Just curious about interleave settings. I changed both the interleave and updated to Adobe CC last week so have yet to do much work on it. So the little hitch I was getting may just be project related or new software.

I’m not sure about mixed cards. I was speaking to the relative performance of trading three GTX 680s for 2 Titans.

Thx for the input. Yeah Trying to keep everything internal though an expander may be something I look into towards the end of the life of this workstation. If I ditch the Fusion IO idea I could run 2 Titans, RAID card, BM card, and a Red Rocket all internal, and faster IO by not sharing a slot for an external expansion chassis. It would be basically the same setup I have now just trading 2 680s for 2 Titans and one 680 for a Rocket. Not against external expansion eventually…just trying to optimize space and cost at the moment. Don’t need the Titans performance wise, just want to free up a slot and bring the noise and heat levels down.
