ok, so i drop the files onto compressor and apply a quicktime setting it looks like.

thanks so much for the info about h.264… wasnt my camera, i just thought the files would be good to go.

I have been having the exact same problem!
the video file is h.264 at 5.1 MB/sec

when i export it for quicktime movie or use quicktime conversion, the video footage gets completely out of order.

i see David Weiss’s post about “transcode those video file types to ProRes 422”, but is that “all”? and can i do this to an entire batch of footage at once? i’ve got 50 gigs that will all need to be transcoded.

i have experience with editing, but all of the CO/DEC stuff really baffles me.
David could you please provide a link that you think has the best solution for transcoding?

yeah its a SD DVD, but the footage is all squished together on the dvd footage
