I will add only one small comment as I agree with what the others have said.

All this will work assuming that your workflow was:

AMA link to camera file > transcode to various DNx media.

You did not explicitly say that you started with an AMA link. If you did classic import then life will be a bit more painful …..

    Hi Marc,

Any idea if Technicolor NY still has that Spirit S8 gate? And any ideas as to who I might contact there to see if it would be rented?

    Thanks,

    Jef

    Thanks for the info all.

I am working on a personal project. We have a Spirit I can use on off hours. Just need a gate.

Any more ideas, let me know.

    Thanks,

    Hi Jeff,

    Thanks for the response.

The show is mixed in surround by a enormously talented mixer. Plus we have done a downmix ourselves to make a stereo mix.

It is just that when comparing the stereo off of the check disc and the 5.1 being downmixed by the Dolby encoder, the stereo seems louder and therefor to some in the production group – better. So I guess I am saying I am somehow distrusting the Dolby downmix.

    Hi Peter,
Thanks for the encouragement. Were you Mac or PC?

    Larry!

    Long time no read …

Yea, I saw that, but I am managing several apps and want to keep the AJA driver where it is unless I know it is going to help.

Do you ever go to tape from Premiere at all? Do you ever go to tape anymore? 😉

    Thanks,

    Hi Chris,

I am using the DNX 220x 1080i preset. My Preferences > Playback setting is Kona 3-0 > Match Sequence.

Are you seeing any different behavior than I describe?

    Thanks,

    Jef

    Hi Kevin,

That is what I believe I am doing. And as I noted in my post, I only see the difference on the computer monitor, not the broadcast monitor fed by the AJA Kona 3 IO.

    Thanks,

    Jef
