When you say “seek, rewind, or fast forward”, I’m guessing you mean next and previous chapters on the DVD. Which means you must check the box that says something like “save project markers in rendered file” when you render to mpeg-2 in VP8.

Only a guess here, but it might be the problem.

I would start with one of the Sony AVC templates. If it is too large try a lower bitrate.

I don’t know why you would break it up in this way, but…
You might want to set up 10-12 minute regions and then batch render regions using the batchrendergui script. It should be in your script menu.

Check how much RAM you have dedicated to RAM Preview. Too much and a render starts fast but then slows down to a crawl. Set it to 100 before rendering.

Thanks for all your comments. I build a new system every 2 years, and have not looked past the nvidia offering for the last 5-6 builds. I just didn’t want to miss anything if times had changed.

You won’t have to change anything in Vegas, as long as you are using the 64 bit version.

Your MB wants your RAM populated in a specific pattern. If you currently have 6GB it is probably (this is a guess) triple channel. Most MB’s must be populated in a pattern, see your MB manual. It sounds like you are using 2GB modules and putting them into 6 slots. I don’t think you can go wrong here.

The good news is… I plugged the 3rd monitor in the HDMI and it was recognized. The bad news is… When I went to activate it in the nvidia control panel, I got a message “this GPU supports up to 2 monitors.”

So, I can have 3 plugged in but can only use 2 at a time.
