Bouke, you’ll never believe it. I went back to the recovery drive the techs had sent back, and I had forgotten that I had complained about all the unix executable files, and they re-did the whole recovery at the time. I had mistakenly saved the first recovery to my HD, and the drive they sent had all the data it, in perfect condition 🙂

Can I ask you one more question? Since this is for my family, alot of them have blu-ray players, or can get one, but don’t have 5.1 systems. Do I need to do a stereo mix and put it on the Blu-Ray as a second track/option in the authoring software, or will playing the 5.1 sound ok when played through a stereo system. I just don’t know how folks handle that situation.

Again, please excuse my stupidity. You do mean just lower the level of the LFE using the pen tool by -10 db?

Can I tell you one other thing I tried? I used FCP’s Share–>Blu-Ray. This actually made an excellent track, but for one thing. The LFE was shaking the floors with every bass hit. Is there a way to stop that? That *isn’t* in the tracks at all. But I like the way it sounds as far as everything else goes.

Oh, I also noticed that even when I set Film Compression to None, LFE Low Pass is still checked, and there’s a -3db downmix setting for Center and LFE that can’t be set to 0. I did notice that those channels were downmixed during playback of the .ac3 as well. Is there anything I can about that? Can I perhaps use my Sequence Audio Settings to increase the center and lfe channels by +3db to compensate?

Thanks for the tip. I’ll definitely try that. You say even after that, it still may be flat. Is there some other preset you use?
