Thanks, Dave. What makes Cinema Craft best, in your opinion?

Downloaded this program to try it out, put 4 1-hour segments into it to do. It did them, except it did them all as one big 4-hour mpeg, rather than 4 separate 1-hour mpegs. What did I do wrong? How can I put multiple segments into it and have them come out separate segments rather than together as one long one? Thanks.

This would seem to me to say that it’s nearly always better to use VBR (unless you’re in a hurry to encode or have a project where space isn’t an issue).

I use Cleaner XL to encode stuff to mpeg 2. I know there’s a range of encoding software and hardware out there. What kind do most people here use, just out of curiosity?

Many thanks. Have downloaded and checked it out. Appreciate that.

You are correct. And I found that if I add any effect to the clip, the hold frame works. Temperamental, eh?

Thanks. Just did this, and it solves the problem.

That’s what I ended up doing, deleting it all and starting over, and it worked. Don’t know why/how it got stuck on that. But just recreated the menu and the problem disappeared. Thanks.

If I don’t put a value in the Loop Point box, then the menu renders just fine. But when I put a value in the Loop Point box, the menu renders to play to that point and then stops and loops back to the first frame of the menu!

    What the — ?!

Dang. Very weird. I’ve used the Loop Point before and it works like it’s supposed to work, making the buttons work at the loop point, and making the menu loop back to that point.

I had the same problem, took a still of my video with the buttons in place, and then opened the menu in photoshop, put in the layers where the buttons go, back to Encore to link the buttons. Works like a charm. Guess you did the same or similar thing.

Thanks very much, very helpful. Appreciate it. Am learning about the nice features (and the few workarounds) on this program.
