Quits in all different places. Just long renders.

Sleep is turned off. I did a reset for the power and the restarts have quit. Final Cut still quits upon long renders though.

That is exactly what I have been doing, and it seems to work, don’t you think if I can render in short segments, that the media is being accessed fine, or how could it render at all? Why would the longer renders treat the media files any different? Very confusing.

    Thanks,

I have installed istat and I am monitoring it while rendering. What is a safe temperature to be looking for?

I am on a separate circuit with my other computer which is a G4 dual. I am rendering DVC Pro HD 720p, HDV and SD all on a SD timeline.

I am rendering a 40 min. sd program of a combination of 720p , 1080i and sd. I can’t render long renders without Final Cut quitting on me. I have replaced the ram, the AJA card. I have reinstalled Final Cut as well as the OS. I have tried all of this on an identical 8 core machine and it still quits. The only thing common is the media that I am using.

    Thanks for the response.

My computer has plenty of breathing room although I have not tested to see if it is overheating. I will do that today. When you say “use the project manager to create a new copied project”, do you mean use the media manager? I have made a copy using media manager and still the same problem.

Today when I came in to my studio, Final Cut had quit again. Shocker. This time upon reopening my project, it could not connect to a file so I reconnected to it. Things seem to be going crazy now. I have tried removing the media drives and system drive and installing on another 8 core with the exact same configuration, and it still crashed upon rendering long renders.

    I am not conditioned power.

I have tried this project on another 8 core computer and still Final Cut will quit.
I tried another 8 core it is still quit.
The only thing common in this scenario is the media that I am using, if that helps.
How do know if a clip is corrupt in Final Cut?

I just posted a similar problem. Have not had a response yet. I also have a 8 core that is shutting down and then restarting all on its own, while attempting a long render. Every single time I set a long render, it unexpectedly quits.
